WoW Upgrades - The item upgrader kit Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also added to every upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for the latter due to the need to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any kind of weapon or armor. The item upgrading used to upgrade the item is discarded and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrades will depend on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. For instance upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, purchasing a similar piece from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to purchase tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be applied to any weapon or tool with an button, which will show an image of the item at its next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item upgrading. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade costs 15 Flightstones plus a certain number of crests. Some upgrades give discounts on Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

Many locations offer item upgraders, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs provide an upgrade discount and a chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The discount for upgrades increases with the number of items being upgraded, and can be increased by requiring players to complete specific achievements or complete quests.

Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II there is no upgrader for items at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead, the NPCs that are available to help with upgrades require a variety of means, which is both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. After a player has earned an upgrade items to a specific item level for a particular armor slot, upgrading other items to that level will be less expensive, even if they are part of an entirely different set of gear.

The amount of Valorstones needed for upgrades is reduced, and the discount is account-wide. The amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players achieve certain milestones in their achievement.

Crests

When upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are used for specific Item level Upgrade level upgrades. Crests are a key element of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to remember is that the crests can only be purchased for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The most basic and straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one may require as many as 20 crests, based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests by completing content of the appropriate level, which involves walking around and engaging in outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest level possible for all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.

Another significant modification is that crests have one usage, so it's important to use them properly. It's Best item upgrader to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests for the next set of upgrades. This is especially applicable to trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character, which can only be eligible to take advantage of the account-wide discount when all of the slots are filled with high-quality gear.
