The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that is equipped with smart mapping and app-based no-go zones. Its running time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also self-empties itself and automatically refills its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's most intelligent robot vacuum to date. The most significant innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. This uses AI to detect objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first robot to automatically send you photos of an object it encounters so you can tell it to avoid it in the future.

The Combo j7+ is also the best vacuums robot to mop we've ever tested, removing spills and dirt with ease while leaving no trace it was there. It's easy to control using the iRobot Home app which lets you schedule cleaning and set up Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't sweep areas you don't want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off with your voice.

Its design is also a step above the competition, with a sleek top piece that appears more like a toy robot rather than a loud, loud one. And the Clean Base Automated Dirt Disposal System automatically empty which is great to speed up cleaning.

In our tests, the j7+ was quick to clean up dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in place, instead of scattering it across the floor. It was able to capture small gravel, sand and even a little grit. Most robots could not do this. It did this without getting caught in our pet's hair.

The j7+, although not as smart as the Roomba S9 for $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it can't clean the stairs, is a good option for those who need both mopping and vacuum. It's not costly and the iRobot App makes it simple to use.

While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use however we've found it be less reliable than other apps that work with robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell if the update is actually working until you see it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean your floors, a hybrid is the best option. This category of bots typically has a built-in water tank which means they can vacuum and mop your home at the same time. They also have a number of extra features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance and even the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. They are expensive at retail, but usually come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock is one of our top robot vacuums and the Q5+ is no exception. This is the cheapest model in their auto-empty line. While it may not have some of the more premium features (like no-go zones and multi-story memories), it's still an excellent option if you are willing to compromise to save a few dollars.

The Q5+ is noticeably gentle around obstacles such as table legs and walls which makes it a great option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is an area which many robot vacuums be a bit sloppy. The Q5+'s navigation is superb, with only a few mishaps along walls and in corners.

Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled by a handful of buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go zones and adjust your home map, or re-label the rooms.

If you decide to go with the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock, which was designed specifically to make this robot simple to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once it's installed emptying the bin can be accomplished easily. It also features a large LCD display which is great to have when you're creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't a necessity for most people however it will assist you in keeping the track of the maintenance intervals for your robot with ease.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly smart in both its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is among the best in the industry, but it's expensive.

It's a small base station that looks stunning and is easily hidden when not in use. The main reason to buy the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions and chores that other robots leave to you. It can store dirty and clean water and electrolyze and heat the water. Many other robots require this.

And its vacuuming is impressive as well. It's the only robot vacuum I've tested that does an excellent job of removing dirt from floors that aren't. And it's not as loud as the expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

The Freo X Ultra is not free of faults, especially in the area of navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren’t as reliable as other robot vacuums. This means it can get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It can't navigate stairs as well as competitors, for instance and it doesn't have a dock that allows the user to set up an exclusive cleaning zone for plush carpets.

The Freo X Ultra robot broom vacuum and mop is an excellent option for those looking for an automated cleaning vacuum that can do everything.

If you're looking to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are alternatives available. Many of the eufy models cost substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and offers the same experience in the app, but with more features, including the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and better overall performance when vacuuming floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of making robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning of hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at a reasonable price. It's easy to set it up, simply connect one of the side brush and turn it on, then connect the charging dock. The app will guide you through the steps required to connect your G30 to your Wi-Fi. The dock will need to be located near an outlet with enough space to move.

The G30 is a tiny device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, meaning it can be placed under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is more subtle in comparison to other models. It features a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern over two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 with Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The most important aspect that distinguishes the G30 apart from its competitors is the way it cleans. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable items that are in its path. It keeps track of the things it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. When it needs to recharge, it will automatically return to its base, and then resumes cleaning from where it started.

The sleek G30 has its flaws, though. The iRobot Roomba 675 is better constructed, has lower recurring costs, is charged faster and offers similar battery life, while providing superior performance on floors that are unfinished and carpets with a low pile. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't have to be empty as often and comes with a set of boundaries that restrict it from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't need emptying as often and is less prone to suffocating heavy materials such as cereal.
