Line-up

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet arrangement of the previous albums. It was a more ferocious, consistent effort with an edge that was stronger than Hydra. The more experimental sound of Turn Back reflected the development of the group. Bobby Kimball's growing virtuosity was reflected by the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's work was sharper, more intricate, and less derivative than on previous efforts.

After touring to promote their album, the band recorded an Amsterdam live performance that was released on Eagle Records as a 2-CD set entitled Falling In Between.
