The digital artwork

After weeks of social-media posts hints, luxury automobile maker Lamborghini finally revealed its first initiative for non-fungible tokens (NFT). The project is dubbed the Space Key, it consists of five items that unlock a unique digital artwork NFT created by the unidentified artist. The collectors' item was developed in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm) and is limited to just five units. It will be auctioned shortly.

Each Space Key contains a block comprised of the most advanced carbon-fire composite material. It was shipped to the International Space Station as part of a 2019 research project. After returning to Earth the space key was imprinted with the QR code which links it to the digital element of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a distinct moment that occurs only seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. More than 600 million pixels up each of the five images, which were captured by photographer Fabian Oefner.

Oefner used a balloon equipped with a camera to take each of the individual shots, which were then merged into the final image. The result is a truly out of this world image that captures the beauty of Earth as well as the futuristic, hyper-realistic look of the car rising from it. The Space Keys will be auctioned off in the near future, however the exact date and location of the auction haven't yet been revealed yet.

The auction

Each one will be sold individually and the winner will receive a digital artwork created by renowned photographer Fabian Oefner, which captures the five different moments the Space Key passed during its flight through space.
