Buying a Double Buggy From Birth

There are many factors to consider when selecting the ideal double buggy from birth. We spoke with Fourth Trimester postnatal retreat expert Katie Billingsley for her advice on everything from seating options, age ranges to folding mechanisms and storage space.

This buggy is essential for active families. It will grow with your family, from twins to toddlers. It's lightweight, has great maneuverability and is able to handle uneven terrain with ease.

What type of buggy do you want?

A double buggy is perfect for transporting two kids, not necessarily of the same age, side by side. They can also be used as prams. Each seat is equipped with a reclining mechanism so that your children can sit or lie down in various positions. A lot of them have plenty of storage space for everything from drinks and snacks to wipes and nappies. They are usually light that folds easily and are compact enough to fit into the car boot. They tend to be more expensive than side-by-sides or tandem buggies but offer lots of flexibility and have a great return on investment. They're generally easy to steer, have an enormous storage basket and can cope well on uneven surfaces. Some come with a built-in ride-on board for children older than and 'cinema seats'.

Do you have twins?
